Drumroll, Please...

If you're reading this, that means you are perusing our first publicly-released draft of the new First Presbyterian Church website. When I volunteered to help with this project many moons ago, I never imagined it would be as involved as it has been. So if you were aware that a new website was in the works, thank you for your patience. If you were not, well...Surprise!

We have arrived at this juncture through the tireless efforts of our Design Team: Pastor Dave, Steve Stein, Scott Eikenberry, Gail Kangas, and myself, with input from other members of the congregation and staff where it was warranted. If you see new and beautiful pictures of our church sprinkled throughout the website, those are the work of local photographer Julia Taylor.

(Here's a sneak peek at one that's not elsewhere on the site. I'm not sure what it is, but this one in particular really speaks to me!)

At this time, we think we have brought our website into the current century, with a new look-and-feel, and a focus on both attracting new people to the church and providing valuable information and content to current members and attendees. Before we unveil the website to the rest of the world, we wanted to solicit the feedback of anyone in the congregation who is willing to review and critique for us. After working on this for several months, there are certainly going to be things our eyes just are not seeing, and this is where outside perspectives will be valuable.

We welcome and appreciate any and all feedback. As a team, we will review and discuss the items that are brought to our attention and decide whether and how to incorporate them into the page before it goes live.

In addition, I have a personal request: If you have a smart phone or a tablet, please check out the website on that device, as the layout will be different. We have made some adjustments to that interface, but we as a team have not spent nearly as much time perusing it as we have the desktop version of the site.

Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us in this way, and for contributing your feedback. Your efforts here will enable us to polish up the final draft of the website and wrap up this project.

Happy browsing!
